This mediterranean species forms a dense shrub, even in a rage pot although it is extremely slow growing. It is an ideal plant for bonsai with small, very spiny leaves and good branching. Also good on the patio, in a hot, Sunny position, if protected from hard frosts. Lime tolerant, not fussy to soil as long as it has good drainage. We collected our seeds near Perpignan and Montpellier, in garrigue vegetation where the best Q coccifera plants grow in the wild. Rarely offered for sale.
