Description:

An unusual, upright shrub from South-America, with trumpet-like, small, pink flowers in May, followed by masses of blue-violet coloured fruits which remain on the branches until mid-Winter and look very attractive. An evergreen plant with small, dark green leaves, and spines in-between, ideal against a wall or near the house, at garden entrance, where is is protected from cold winds - it is hardy enough for most of the UK o overwinter without protection. It is also an ideal bonsai subject, and can be trimmed.
